What we do makes a difference because we approach values differently.
Learn how to become a Certified Values Perspectives practitioner
How are we different?
We work with values non-judgmentally.
Why? Because no single value or values perspective on the world is “higher,” more moral, or “better” than any other. What matters about our values is how we define them, and how we live them.
How? We create safe spaces for reflection, discovery and clarity through dialogue. That dialogue starts with a simple question: “What’s most important to YOU?”
Our Working Values
Safety
We create a confidential, non-judgmental place for values insight, whether in an online survey, personal discussion, classroom, or meeting room.
Respect
Everyone is worthy of being respected for the values they hold. We ensure that our work is conducted in a spirit of mutual respect.
Diversity
The diversity of values is what gives us access to the widest reach across worldviews, for a complete perception of the people around us.
Dialogue
Our work drives fundamentally toward dialgoue about values. Dialogue is is the only way to truly understand one's own and others' values.
Meet the Founders
Cheryl and Kenton have worked in human values development for more than two decades. Their work is built on long-established models for human growth and development. They co-founded Kairios in 2001 because they understood their work was needed to help people get past the mindset that some values are morally superior to others. The model and practices they have developed view values as choices that operate in dynamic interconnections with each other as well as with our innate gifts, our life purpose, and life’s demands. People who are successful in life may hold any set of values; what matters is how they live them.
Cheryl and Kenton’s work is informed by decades of experience in leadership development program design, facilitation, executive and life coaching, and trainer-training; and by the more than 25 psychometric and feedback instruments in which they hold certification. Their tenure as Senior Faculty members of the Center for Creative Leadership (CCL) together with extensive consulting experience has given them access to clients in serving at all organizational levels, from C-suite to shop floor; to organizations ranging in scale from community-based to globally dispersed, in digital tech, pharma, law, manufacturing, communications, logistics, civil engineering, business consulting, health and higher education. They have the good fortune to be both collaborators and life partners.
Cheryl is a seasoned coach, leadership and team development facilitator, organizational consultant and author. While serving as Senior Faculty at CCL she co-designed the Leading Creatively program and LeaderLabTM, winner of a Daniel Goleman Award for Emotional Intelligence training; and she was as Director of CCL’s European campus, based in Brussels, Belgium. Cheryl is a specialist in integrating creative, non-traditional methods that expand learners' reach. She is also an artist and mythologist. All of these facets go into her values-based approach to helping designers, facilitators and coaches to confidently and effectively incorporate the widest range of learning modalities.
With a deep background in the academic field of Communication, Kenton specializes in values assessment and development for individuals, groups, teams, and organizations and the development of supporting ethical behaviors. He has both internal and external experience, consulting, facilitating and coaching at all organizational levels. He served as Senior Faculty at CCL and European Director of the flagship Leadership Development Program, which at the time was ranked no. 1 by Newsweek in the US, and no. 4 globally by Financial Times. His academic training is in human communication. Kenton is a painter and photographer and author.
